  • Songs For Errant Micro-Organisms #1 - Limited Edition Cassette
    Cassette + Digital Album

This is a limited edition cassette of Songs for Errant MicroOrganisms #1. The track has been recorded to both sides of the cassette, so you can flip it over and listen to it again! The tape sleeves are o-cards with hand printed lino cuts of two of the planktons from the game. Accompanying the cassette is a small zine, which features a copy of the original graphical score I devised for the piece.

If you are still interested in the cassette, I have handed over the remaining tapes to the good folks at Attract Mode (attractmo.de) and the they will be available online there in the near future!

Includes unlimited streaming of Songs For Errant Micro Organisms #1 via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

about

For some time I've been thinking about and experimenting with the use of Toshio Iwai's Electroplankton. This piece is the first result of that experiment.

This is a live recording of a performance composed for four copies of electroplankton for the Nintendo DS. I spent several months composing the piece, and working on a form of graphical score/ notation for it. Songs for Errant Micro-Organisms #1 is the first in a series of pieces composed for a variety of configurations of electroplankton.

This recording was made at Culture Hub in New York City, during my performance of the piece at the art exhibition Game Art in the Knowable Space, curated by Chris Burke.
